Rey Skywalker, a Force-sensitive human female, was a Jedi who fought for the Resistance against the First Order during the New Republic Era. She was unaware of her lineage as the granddaughter of Emperor Sheev Palpatine, and referred to herself simply as Rey, believing herself to be no one of significance. Toughened by the harsh deserts of Jakku, Rey learned to survive as a scavenger, becoming a skilled mechanic, pilot, and combatant in the process.
